Zihuatanejo Beach Retreat has been known in the 1970’s as a school for scuba diving, of over 100 students in a day.We have converted one of the wood cabins, “Casa Escondito”, to a small hostel and are opening the proverbial doors to backpackers and travelers on a shoe string budget.It is truly a getaway, an eco resort, a botanist’s paradise, the LA Times called it “a heavenly slice of Joseph Conrad”.featuring a room with six spacious bunk beds, with much room overhead, each bunk curtained off for privacy, the extra large dormitory is secured with mosquito netting on each window, has floor fans.A kitchen with a refi, stove, microwave, pots pans, coffee maker, blender etc.hammocks abound to relax, a breakfast bar, a reading/ lounging area surrounded by view of entire bay.It includes clean sheets and bath towel.The use of cabin and access to entire compound designated for communal use.The shower is a step down, the bathroom has a toilet flushing with sea water.Other information :Please clean up after yourself.Quiet time is at 10 pm but not sleep time. All common areas of the property is open to explore but no entry is permitted to the private cabins.please do not rest under a coconut tree, it is not wise.Repellent and especially flashlights are recommended.We have no internet, rental of ancha usb equipment might be available.No candles or other fires burning unattended, camp fires only in designated areas.turn off lights and fans when not in room.Our fresh water is delivered and pumped into cisterns, we conserve it much and request showers to be limited to three minutes. Guests are welcome, but must check in with staff, and expected to leave by 5 pm.Report leaks immediately, repairs promptly.This property is not so suitable for toddlers with the coconuts falling, and the rustic environment, but older children love this space!Please note :Cancellation Policy : 3 days.Only cash payment accepted on arrival.
