The Seikiro ryokan is located in AmanoHashidate area, Kyoto Prefecture, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. It was designated a tangible cultural asset in 2010. The traditional wooden ryokan offers a unique experience of life in Japan, from traditional hot spring bathing to Wi-Fi access throughout the building. Countless artists and writers have fallen in love with the ryokan since its establishment at the end of the 17th century. Many painters visited from Kyoto during the Edo period. It has been the inspiration for beautiful fusuma (paper door) paintings, fine novels and poems, many of which are on display throughout the facility, in the large hall and in all guest rooms. We have two large public baths, one for men and one for women. They are open from 15:00 until 10:00 in the morning. The water of our hot springs is good for neuralgia and helps recovery from tiredness. Enjoy soaking in a bath with the subtle aroma of sulfur drifting up in the steam. We serve traditional but original kaiseki dishes created by our head chef always using freshly caught fish in season. On the coast of the Sea of Japan, the port town of Miyazu is rich in seasonal seafood Please note that reservations for breakfast should be made at check-in or before and for dinner three days before your arrival day.We have 16 guestrooms, all Japanese style.Location:Seikiro is located in Miyazu City, home to many well-known sights including the very famous Amanohashidate beach, only 10 min by bicycle from our ryokan. Hiking and cycling with ocean views is great. Kasamatsu Park, Miyazu Catholic Church, Old Mikami Family House, Kanabiki no Taki Waterfall are lovely places to visit.
