Kawaichiya Ryokan is a Japanese style inn located in Nozawa Onsen (Hot Spring), one of the largest and most popular ski resorts in Japan as well as a popular onsen site. Throughout the Nozawa Onsen, there are about 30 different type of hot springs and there are 13 public hot spring baths that can be used free of charge! Soaking in an onsen will help you relax after an enjoyable day!Kawaichiya also have 2 different kinds of hot springs. The onsen sources are OGAMA and SHINYU in Nozawa Onsen.It takes 2 minutes from the Nozawa onsen Center bus stop to Kawaichiya. Very easy to go to the Nozawa onsen main street.We have Japanese-style guest room with tatami mats and Japanese/Western combo guest room. Next take the Iiyama Line to Togari Nozawa Onsen (1 hour) and from there a bus or taxi to Nozawa Onsen. Although our Hot Spring Bath opens from 16:30 to 22:30 in winter season, it opens for 24 hours in other seasons. *Except for a few hours for cleaning.2. The following is what we feel sorry for our guests.In Nozawa onsen, all streets are very narrow and steep, and there is no flat wide area because this town is very old town and located at the middle of mounatain. Therefore, all buildings & houses are very adjacently built each other and not comfortably big.1. ElevatorKawaichiya is composed of 3 buildings, but the building having a elevator is only one of them. Every building has 3 floors, so some of our guests need to take stairs.2. CorridorBecause of the particular topography of Nozawa Onsen, there are some corridors to connect with each buildings in Kawaichiya. Therefore, it is a structure not understood easily for you.3. Narrow & SmallAddition to the above mentioned information, our facilities, which are a guest room, dining room, public toilet and so on, are not so big or wide as well.The topographical situation of Nozawa Onsen might be uncomfortable for you, but in fact, it is necessary for keeping Japanese local atmosphere.
