We booked a private room 5 days prior to arriving, but when we got there they had no room for us, and just sent us off to another hostel, and lied saying that the other hostel would discount the room rate. Also very noisy because the room is right on the party area.

All good, good and helpful staff. Walls wont keep the noise so keep that in mind if wanting just a place to rest.

After 2 years staying in hostels this place was the best. The staff genuinely cared about your welfare, there was always an underground party coming up (a couple of promoters live in the hostel), and the food was good and extremely cheap.
Massive DVD collection, hotel like atmosphere, right number of people, ~40, and no rules!
If I started a hostel, I would base it on Fatima.

Hostel Fatima is by far one of the funnest hostels I have stayed in in South America. The staff was very nice, great location and the atmosphere is very social. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone.
