I was check-in to room no 3 (Facing Fleshmarket Steps) The crowd was keeping me awake whole night. I found a little mice lying dead on the steps for three days. As for the room, bed and shower room is clean. Central heater was making this odd noise throughout the night. The blind is VERY dusty.
However this backpacker is so ideally located and i believe if something is to be done to my thoughts, it will definitely be one of the best place to stay.

It was obviously a quiet time at the hostal, so staff were at a loose end. They seemed to hog the communal facilities for themselves.

We stayed in en suite room and the shower water outlet was cluttered and was the same even after changing the room.Won't go again.Sorry

No curtains on the window of the dorm room I stayed in, which wouldn't have been too much of a problem if the dorm hadn't been on the ground floor and the window at street level. Cue lots of loud drunks walking past and staring in at 1am. Fun! Really friendly helpful staff though.

An ideal location, but minimal confort ! No paper in the toilets and bathrooms not so clean. BUT you're right in the Old Town and very close to the bus to the airport !

We stayed in one of the private rooms over New Years and it was just awesome. Massive room with everything we needed. Really clean and the staff were happy to help. Better than many expensive hotels really and right in the midst of everything. Will definitely be back.
