Bed and Breakfast 'Le Touriste' is situated in Dossena (1050 AMSL), an ancient Village on the top of a hill towering the Brembo Valley and looking at the Serina Valley, with San Pellegrino at its feet, just 7km away. We are also close to Bergamo city and airport, 35 kilometers distant on the A4 motorway. Dossena roots are to be found during the Etruscan age, when the first houses are thought to have been built with mines that were opened in the area. The mining activity continued for millennia until 20 years ago when it definitely stopped. John the Baptist's church is in the center of the Village, the first baptismal Church of the Valley and a treasure chest of art with canvas of Veronese, the Flemish Rubens and Reimer, Palma il Vecchio, Santa Croce and many other artists of the 600 and 700.Today Dossena is a nice and modern village, lost in the green of fields, located on the mountain pathway connecting lake Iseo, from Lovere, to Como lake, crossing the Taleggio Valley and the Sassina Valley. From Dossena you can easily get to San Pellegrino Terme, place known all over the world for its water, its casino and its liberty style monuments; to the Serina Valley with its amazing medieval villages; to San Giovanni Bianco, Where you can see Arlecchino's house; and the medieval town on Cornello del Tasso, home of the poet Torquato Tasso and his family that administered the Imperial mail. In this village on the top of this green and sunny hill you can find the Bed and Breakfast 'Le touriste', in an antique house that has kept the warmth and hospitality typical of the families of Bergamo Valleys. Here you can relax enjoying the simple things surrounded by nature, history and friendly people.
