The atmosphere was a bit cold and sterile. A bit like staying in a hospital. It is a nice building on a beautiful property.

This hostel is lovely! very new, very well cleaned and very good location ONCE YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS. The directions given on the hostel world website are total RUBBISH! it took us twice as long to get there because of it. This is REALLY annoying because the hostel is actually really simple to get to from the train station. Walk straight, cross the bridge turn left and just past the white bridge on your left! not hard! Excellent decor. everything is new. nice to have internet (paid) and bicycle for hire. staffs are patient and friendly (though I wish they told me that museums are closed on Mon) as I would have planned my itinerary differently. previous reviews on this website v helpful.

A typical HI hostel, brilliantly clean, an excellent location right on the river and close to the centre of the old town. Book well ahead during summer!

A clean very modern looking hostel! Let down by a lack of travellers in this region, a lot of families and not much of a backpacker vibe. A very good breakfast. A great place to stay if you're meeting up with friends or travelling with friends.

I was extremely pleased with Stayokay. It was clean, the staff was very nice, the food was good. A very positive experience.

Location is perfect -- right on the Maas with a beautiful terrace on the riverbank. It's a quick walk to all of the sights of Maastricht. Very clean and cheerful, just like every other Stayokay I've ever been to.
There was a very large, loud football team staying there the night I was there so I didn't actually get a wink of sleep, but at least it was a pleasant room to be in while staring at the ceiling and listening to drunk boys in the hallway all night!

Very confusing direction post in the web. 6 min from the markt, but which way? the markt is connecting to 12 streets!
Better to walk directly from central station, cross the old bridge and turn left, don't worry if you see no other building, keep walking, the hostel locates isolatedly when you pass the new bridge
