This is a real Ryokan experience. We spent our first 2 nights in Japan in this place and were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful, polite and professional. The room was just how you imagine a Ryokan should be, clean spacious and comfortable. The hot spring communal baths were our favourite of the trip and the location, in the middle of Higashiyama, is walking distance to Gion, downtown and the nightlife whilst still being in the leafy hills on the edge of town and surrounded by lov...More

A little expensive for what it is. They had serious problems finding our reservation and were not extremely heplful in the beginning.
