I would not recommend this hostel to female travellers, especially single female travellers. It is an open-set block of rooms with outside shared bathrooms that are clean enough but not private. A fight broke out between drunk male backpackers outside our door during the night and they were falling into our hallway and against our wall! The majority of clientelle are older males who appear to be longer term residents. The hostel is surrounded by dodgy-looking shanty houses.

a bit out of town, but free pick up from greyhound. friendly staff, laidback atmosphere.

Really nice hostel, good clean facilities. Good place for a stop over especially if you have a car to get around.

A good stop off point but not much to do in Rockhampton, staff are great but the time we used the kitchen it wasn't very clean.

Very friendly backpackers with good facilities. Not overly busy when I was there which made for a peaceful time. Also has a pool which is a bonus in the heat.
