Excellect locaion. Howard (the host) was extremely nice and helpful. I would like to say thank you very much to him and highly recommend all kind of traveller to stay here.

excellent location just outside of chinatown but what makes this place excellent is the guy who runs the hostel. he has an in depth knowledge of melaka and will recommend the best restaurantsstreet food in town.he may even accompany you to explain each place and each dish to you if you are unfamiliar with the maze of malay food. a real education!

Place is crawling with ants and could be cleaned a bit more. Not sure if sheets are always changed between guests. The receptionist is very very friendly. May overwhelm some. He is very helpful. Everynight at 7pm the hostel goes out for dinner.

If you are specifically looking for a nice clean lovely hostel like Paradiso in KL then this is not the place for you but if you are looking for somewhere that's central to China town & to meet a friendly local like Howard who will treat you like a friend - will look after you if you run into any difficulties, have a chat, take you out to show you where to eat etc then this is the place for you.

We had a great time at Ringo's. Howard was fantastic, taking us to some amazing places to eat and making sure everyone knew each other. The only downside was the bathrooms and the floors could do with a bit more cleaning, I have been in worse though.

Ringos Foyer is cheap and good :) Howard is a wonderful host and we are most grateful to him for recommending us to the fun places in Malacca. The room is generally quite clean and the free wifi is pretty fast. Perhaps, the only problem is that the rag outside the toilet looks a little black and dirty. Otherwise, it's a great hostel and I'll definitely recommend it to my friends :)

A fun stay and I agree with other reviewers that Howard is an excellent host. However, my stay was spoilt by the many insects that preyed on me while asleep. They turned out to be bedbugs - clearly not acceptable in any hostelry.
