Fantastic place and great atmosphere. It's the most relaxed I've felt in a long time. Thanks for the great travel advice and the awesome zen dinner. I look forward to my next visit, whenever that will be!

Definitely NOT Japanese, but definitely a wonderful travelers' place to stay when you want ease of language and stories off the beaten path.
I heartily recommend Nikko Park Lodge!!

The home-cooked meals were lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were always willing to help. A great little hostel.

Nikko park lodge is a lovely place to stay, although it is quite a walk from the train station and from anything else for that matter. The lodge itself is very homely and comfortable and there is a good onsen very close by. The staff were very helpful and informative. The internet was very expensive at 10 yen per minute, but other than that, nice place.

Lovely little lodge up the mountain, a bit of a walk with the luggage, but apparently there is a shuttle bus. Very cosy!
