This place was ok for what it was, but not what we were expecting. The brochure advertises Salzburg's "newest hostel", but it was just a school with dorms that wasn't being used for the summer. The kitchen had no cutlery or glasses. It was really noisy and the rooms weren't great. The bunk beds in our room didn't seem very safe at all. The location is advertised as close to town, but it's a fair hike, especially with luggage.

the backyard area is huge and amazing. good for relaxing. 10 min walk into town. nice place

Though this hostel is located far from train station, it is good place for wandering the rocked city, Salzburg.

directions were a little vague. the last turn was longer than 100m!

on arrival, the lady at the reception had her mouth full with her lunch, did not say hello and stared at me until i told her that i had a room booked.staff were rather unhelpful when asked for information about things as simple as how to get to the airport. we stayed in a private 2bedded room which was pleasant enough but ended up gettin bed bug bites all over me after the night.absolutely no character in the place. was really quiet with hardly anyone around.

The place totally lacked atmosphere. The rooms were clean but at the same time sterile. Only one key per room caused us problems since our room mate forgot to leave it in the reception when he left. The staff was nice and helpful though.

This is a dorm that has rooms available presumably during slow months. It's pretty far out of the way from both the old town and the other side of the river. I only stayed one night so it wasn't really a problem, but if you plan on staying longer it might be one.
