We stayed in the Japanese style pivate room and it was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Bean bags for pillows is a new one on me, but it works OK.. This place is nice and clean but maybe a bit cramped. Definitely good value though.

The staff are very friendly and looking to help! They even fed us traditional New Year's Foods on New Year's Eve and Day!

A little hike from the train station and on the other side of town to downtown Kyoto. However, the 207202 buses are convenient for the temples. The hostel is very clean and security isn't an issue with lockers available for those who need it. The staff are overwhelmingly helpful but the hostel isn't well catered for meeting others. We stayed in two rooms, both were well maintained, with curtains provided for privacy. All up a great experience.

The shower plug was full of hair and water up around my ankles. I only stayed one night. Really friendly staff were very kind and helpful.
