A great staff... kind and helpful. Also, the Ganges is ten steps from the entrance so location is good.

The hostel is located as close as possible to a minor crematory ghat, with roughly 20-30 funerals running daily. The room offered in hostelworld is very simple, with basic furniture, fan, and no sink (no hot water either). If you don

Stairs are clean, but my room was not mopped in months. When power goes off, if they have few guests, they don't turn the emergency generator on and you bake in the hot room, when I complained that whas what I was told, The staff mis friendly.

Don't let this be your first hotel in India, or it will be too shocking. Looking out over very poor huts and having the constant smell of the burning ghats is too much for being a first stop in India (as it was for us). If you are already used to low-budget hotels and have had your share of experience in the country, then you might consider booking here.

As other people mentioned, being right next to the burning ghat is a bit of a drag, but the staff and the price more than make up for it. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

the hostel was very clean, tho in monsoon season the windows leak. the guy at reception is v. v. helpful and friendly- please don't mistake this for someone wanting to get more money out of you, etc. (as in Delhi...)! it is located on a burning ghat- so, don't get any laundry done here unless you want it smelling of smoke ash with bits of cremated person on them (potential) as they dry the clothes outside

The rooftop restarant has a good veiw,good food and decent internet. Also a good place to meet other travellers.

This Hotel is ok. Not too far from the main ghats. A bit in a chaotic alley but Varanasi is a chaotic city anyway. Not a bad choice if your on a budget and you are arriving late in town. The room that are sold via hostel world doesnt include AC, but they have some room that have AC.
