Very nice hotel for low-budget traveller. Nice located in a "real" NY-area. The shared bathrooms were clean and in good condition. Our room was small, but absolutely ok. the 17 got charme and I'll come back for sure in summer. See ya then... Regards Christian

Hotel 17 was warm and inviting. The location was great as was very close to the subway and only a short stroll from the heart of East Village and Lower Eastside. It was very clean and staff members were friendly. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

The room I was assigned to on the 4th floor was too cold. The heat did not circulate enough. I reported the problem to the front desk. They found me a warmer room on the 3rd floor. Another room on the 4th floor that was assigned to part of my group also slept in a cold room.

Clean, comfortable room. Bathrooms were very clean. The room did have an odor coming from the radiator from where the screen had been dyed. I would stay again. You cant beat the price and the location of Union Square.

I really did my homework before booking this hotel and I'm so glad that I did. It was clean and pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recomment it to others.
The location is hard to beat for the price.
The only down side was that the Wifi doesn't work on the upper floors 6 and 7 where the private rooms are.

This hotel was pretty reasonable for a budget hotel in New York. The room was a bit cold but they did offer an electric heater when I complained. Shared bathroom was kept clean. Locatio is ver good. Overall not bad for the price in Manhattan.
