Very nice for a small hostel, although it actually feels more like a pension or a small hotel. Overall very clean, the rooms are cozy, the staff friendly, and it's cheap and a great location. So generally you'll enjoy Hostel Merlin as long as you don't come expecting a party scene, since there's not really any space (other than the small kitchen) for you to hang out and meet other guests.

This is a very wonderful hostel in the heart of the old city. It is located just across the bridge, and is located next to a wonderful chocolate house, with all the hot or cold chocolate you could imagine. The only negative could be the stiff beds, but really not a big deal. Free use of kitchen, free books and knowledge. I highly reccommend it.

This is for a private room in the 'pension' rather than the backpackers hostel.

Excellent little place to stay - the rooms were really warm which was good because it was freezing outside! Had to wait a couple of times to find staff for checking inout, but they were really friendly and it didn't matter. Great location too, only a couple of minutes from the town square.

Probably the nicest and the best-priced accommodation we found on our whole 2 month trip. Definitely worth staying here!

the stuff is kind, but the room is quite far from the centre (not the same building of reception). the heating is not working, freezing in the evening.

The staff was nice, the location was excellent!
