A genuine Japenese experience at bargain rates. The owner is very helpful and you can do your sight seeing from here once you get the hang of the bus routes

I was only going to stay a few days, but ended spending a week. While the guesthouse is from the center of Kyoto, it is located in a charming neighborhood. Additionally, it is not far to find some good and cheap eats and is also fairly close to the bus line. The owner goes out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable and will help people out anyway he can. I know that someday I will return to Kyoto and when I do I will be staying here again. A great experience!

the owner of the guest house is a really kind and helpful man. he spent a good amount of time helping me (train schedules, accomodation, and just questions in general about japan).
if you want a break from the other large kyoto hostels and want to base yourself close to the golden temple for a couple of days, this place is worth your stay. quiet little section of kyoto with friendly people.

Awsome place! stayed three nights and was kind of sad to leave! Good sized rooms! outstanding friendly service... the owner drove us to the station at the end of our stay because we had such heavy bags!
Will definately stay here again on our way back through kyoto!

We LOVED this place! If you want a traditional style Japanese living arrangement while staying in Kyoto, I HIGHLY recommend Guesthouse Bon. It may be hard to find, but the house itself was very charming, and the owner is a very helpful and friendly man. Great place!

1. The host is very friendly and kind to share all the information to visitors.
2. The room is very clean, and the host is very considerate to help you ready for your sheets.
3. However, the location is a little far from city center, if you are people who like night life, you may not enjoy living here. It's very quiet at night.

Great place to stay and the owner is very helpful with giving tips on where to go and where to eat! I highly recommend renting the bicycles and seeing all the sights that way.
