Great party hostel with good (and cheap) food. Not for people who want to relax.

Come here if you want to party! The place is modern and has pretty much everything you could ever want, pool, bar, night club, beer garden, travel arrangements, tours, pub crawls. Was great!

The bar was too loud, it wouldnt have been so bad had it not been all day and nearly all night. The room was not cleaned (bins not emptied) and toilet paper was not placed in our room. One member of reception staff was extremely rude and unhelpful when we checked out complete reverse from when we had checked in.

Gilligans is a really fun hostel- it is really loud at night but the attiutude here should be to join in rather than fight the noise! it has the classic symptoms of a really busy big hostel i.e. not greatly stocked kitchensrooms a bit dirty (not unbearably so) staff a bit moody but it has a really good vibe, a lovely pool and is really a very nice place to stay

Really enjoyed staying at Gilligan's. Rooms were modern and clean. It was well located for the lagoon and centre of town. However, I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful!!! Whenever you went to reception you always felt like you were hassling them or wasting their time. I felt they really let the hostel down!

Very good hostel to stay at- they are right in the midle of town, they have a restaruant, a bar, a pool, a information desk which can help you book anything you want to do in Cairns. Definitely a party hostel tho- you can hear the music frm the bar into very late into the night, people are up and drinking until the morning. Overall, probably your best bet for a hostel in Cairns, but if I ever return I\'ll be staying in a hotel.
