Location was the only good thing about this hostel - close to woolworths and the centre of town. Otherwise, dirty room with dust under the beds and in the corners. Bedlinen was washed but had bloodstain on duvet and hairgel stain on pillow. Unhelpfull staff, filthy kitchen, loud music, what more can I say! I hereby rename this place Frogs Hovel! We moved to a much better and clean hostel that was $30 dollars cheaper and had really friendly and helpfull staff (Banyan View Lodge).

More like frog squala!!!! Was awful absolutely filthy!!! and far from all other hostels. others are the same price and FAR nicer!!!

booked for a 24h check in arrived at 3am and culdnt check in unitl 6am but wasnt told of the change in check in times! very dissapointed with this.

The rooms weren't cleaned regularly (at least we didn't notice). If you are planning on booking a tour in Darwin book that over the hostel because you get free internet at the hostel than. (Normal cost $7 per hour).

We found the proximity to the city great. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle that we got some peace and quiet, but close enough that we were able to access facilities with ease. I understand this is one of the quieter backpacker hostels in Darwin and I think that is great. Being a bit more partial to quieter pursuits, I was glad that we were able to spend time meeting fellow travellers without it being a constant party atmosphere.

The no music after 11pm rule was completely ignored and there were very loud drinking parties right through the night. One night there was a fight which was quite frightening. I have no problem with all night parties, but there should be 24 hour security to enforce the rules or they should stop advertising it as a quiet hostel, which is why I chose it as a place to stay.

The bathrooms were dirty. They obviously need to be cleaned more often. Extra charges for air conditioning, late check out etc were onerous.
