All staff is kindly and friendly. But some footsteps of the staff were noisy.
I paid down payment and a booking fee by a credit card at the time of reservation. However, I forgot to say that I paid down payment at the time of check-out, and total amount payment put a hotel bill away.

The hostel is a pretty decent place to stay at for the price. The staff went out of the way on many occasions to make our stay more enjoyable, eg, giving us a room to rest even after we checked out. For those who are keen on visiting Sapa or HalongBay, you may ask the staff and not feel obliged to take any tour they promote. You may ask them to help you book train tickets. Internet provided. Cleaniness is decent, not 5-star, but homely comfortable.

I had a lot of problems with Democracy Hotel. I booked a single room, and they initially gave me a room with a toilet that did not flush and an air-con that leaked. The place smelt of cigarette smoke and was noisy. A mouserat ate the biscuits in my room when I went out for the day. I complained and they changed me to a similar room downstairs. Stay somewhere else!

Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Did not try to push any tours on you as at some other places, but gave lots of information. Really welcoming.

A great hotel for location and the staff were brilliant - polite helpful and great customer service. It is in the heart of old town, a few steps to Hoan Kiem lake away. ATM and supermarket and great bar around it.

This hotel is situated at the right place and very easy to access the places of interest in Ha Noi's Old Quarter. Highly recommend for other budget travellers
