I usually prefer hostels with an international staff (that's what I'm used to), but this was just a local new york staff with the regular new york attitude. I used to live in new york so I already know what that's like and prefer the company of travelers.

OMG staff ! How can you work in a hostel and be so unfriendly, rude and depressing ? You made the experience really bad. But I do understand that with such a good location, and so many rooms, you don't care, whatever you do, you get the money right ?!

Good location, reasonable facilities. Cheap and clean enough for central New York.

Hi, this hostel was very decent and cheap. It is located close to the Subway, the area is secure, and even though the rooms can be small, they're clean and the bed was comfy enough. The toilet was working, shower had hot water and they have security lockers, which you have to pay for. There is an additional tax to the rooms, however that is the same for all locations in NYC, so it shouldn't be that surprising.

Great location - Chelsea is safe, and on top of that, this place is directly opposite the 10th precinct of the NYPD! Pretty good value all round, no hassles with anything and would happily recommend this place again - it's one of the best-value hostels in New York for sure.

I would recommend this hostel, clean and relatively close to many attractions.

The staff is very kind, the location is great, they have a kitchen and internet access (for payment) and lockers for hte luggage in the basement (for payment); it is clean. However, they mix males and females, even if they offer separated rooms in the internet. Also, they should paint the rooms a little bit nicer (the rooms are in Prison-style) and create a nice meeting lobbyarea for everyone, and it would be a perfect place to stay for a low budget!
