Great place run by a great guy. Chalet les Frenes is a cozy place with nice rooms and great views of the mountains. It is just a few kilometers from Chamonix. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing time in the valley.

I definitely recommend this Chalet. The owner, Phil, is super accomodating, funny, and knowledgable about Chamonix. The Chalet is a little outside of town, but it's really no problem with Phil's help and the bus. I would love to go back!

Really loved the place, we felt thoroughly spoilt from the tea to the toilet paper. Phil was a top bloke and went out of his way to accomodate and make us feel at home.
P.S. we stayed in the so called "earwig" room, it was beautiful, not a creepy crawley in sight :)

beautiful scenery, except a bit of an excursion to get into Chamonix by bus or train.
A pretty secluded place..a nice destination if you are looking for a quiet time in the alps.

What a great place to stay. Phil the owner is a top guy and made us feel really welcome. Great views of Mont Blanc from our room. You will need your own transport if you plan to go into Chamonix after 7pm. Great place. Will definitely go back.

We booked for 4 nights but after 1 we left due to the infestation of earwigs in our room. The owner was genually upset and appologised. We found other accomodation in chamonix and it has definately put me off booking a hostel online again.
