This is a decent hostel for the most part. It is clean and safe, and only a short walk from groceries and restaurants.
The particular room that I stayed in was right next to the front desk which was heavily trafficked and the walls provided little to no barrier to the sound. We booked a room with a private bathroom, and ours was anything but.
Still, the staff and other guests were nice, so all the rest is just details.

Great hostel. They keep it very clean, it's right next to a bus stop and grocery store and they have a pool!

They offer free calls to the US and Canada! The ambitious owner Carlos is a cool young guy and has been working hard to expand and improve his hostel. They just opened a new pool while I was there which was a nice bonus! Great location with the local bus stop right in front of the place. Hola to the cute girl at the front desk and Hola Carlos! The front staff was friendly and helpful. The support staff were great and responded to problems quickly.
I had a great time there and can't wait to come back - great people and a fun place.

Staying in this hostel made my trip the best it could be. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to help make my trip the best it could be. The hostel has a great laid-back atmosphere, with a beautiful pool and hammocks nestled in the middle of a forest-like setting, and a huge tarzan swing that made for some good times. Thanks for everything in the hostel - I miss you guys!!

Manuel Antonio Backpacker's is one of the best hostels we have stayed at in Costa Rica. It has a lot of character with the kitchen facing the forest. We saw sloths while washing dishes! Additionally, there is a nice pool and many nice hammocks to lay in.... and best of all, the staff were super nice!! Oh yes - there were even free pancakes!! wooohoo!
