My friend & I stayed there on the new year's eve, and a hot party took place in the small bar on its ground floor, in which we really enjoyed our time passing from 2008 to 2009, and even made several friends who afterwards traveled together with us for 3 days, full of laughter...all has turned to be special experiences in my mind, which I will always remember.

it was very unpleasant having to walk through such a smokey bar to get to a non smoking hostel!

We really enjoyed our stay here - the hostel is simple but great value for the price. Don't expect any added extras, but take advantage of the friendly hosts, and the good (and cheap) bar that fills with locals most nights. Location is good - close to Interlaken West train station and Unterseen village, but a bit of a hike to Interlaken Ost train station (to get to the mountains).
Free lockers, but bring your own padlock.

The room is not very well maintained. Furnitures are quite old. One of the bed mattresses in my room is broken. The cleaners should easily find out that when they make the bed. But it is not replaced.

I dont recommend this hostel for persons who are travelling alone and hopping to meet another persons on the trip..
I stayed there at the weekend and had just a couple and one guy really nice fron Uruguay..
And dont forget to always arrive after 3 pm , because before this time do nt any person from the staff in the hostel..
