We were diverted to the Dakota over the road and left after one night! Double beds in narrow landings, plastic covers on matresses, dubios fire safety and most certainly needs checking out.

Great atmosphere, lots of common spaces. Free internet - and lots of computers to use. Dorms are small, and you have to pay for a towel.

What a brilliant hostel! Everything worked so well, despite it being just a tad warm and the pillows being a bit thin. But gosh, there's like nothing to complain about. Free breakfast was incredible! As was free internet. Dinners were great, social stuff was organised and fun... best hostel I've stayed at.

I stayed here recently at the Adelaide Hostel and also few years ago and it is without a doubt the best hostel I've ever stayed in, and one which I will continue to return to again and again. Friendly and helpful staff; relaxed atmosphere; good food; great location and facilities; cosy, clean, safe, fun home from home; good times, happy memories ... you get the picture. Great hostel to stay at. The service from the front office staff is really great - they really make an effort and are helpful and informative. Free breakfast in the morning sets you up for a big day, and at night the Adelaide has dinner specials, eg $5 for roast chicken or beef and also a vegatarian option ... pretty good location, great if you love to walk otherwise close to local transport links. I would definately stay here again

We were not impressed and decided to check out early. We had booked a private room with private bath that ended up being in the nearby Dakota Hotel. Our room was clean but the bed was wrapped in plastic under the sheets, which was not appealing. There was no kitchen in the hotel but there was a fridge and microwave in our room. Our biggest problem was the "free wireless" that did not reach our room on the 8th floor. The few minutes that we did get a connection is was painfully slow.

Stayed in this hostel for a week in a private en suite room. Room was lovely,with a fridge, microwave and TV. Location of Adelaide hostel was great. Free Internet computers and free wifi for my laptop, TV room and kitchen facilities all excellent. Overall probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Would recommend to anyone planning a trip to San Francisco...Jim from New Zealand

Enjoyed my stay,Adelaide Hostel had a great free breakfast that saved me a lot of money and the evening dinner for only $5 was really good,I will come back.
